Paediatric Physiotherapy

Children move, grow, and recover differently from adults. Our paediatric physiotherapy service provides expert, child-friendly rehabilitation across developmental, orthopaedic, sports, and neurological conditions — built around each child's age, ability, and personality.

How paediatric physio works

Our Paediatric Approach

01

Child & Family Assessment

We meet the child and the parent together. Detailed developmental history, plus a movement, posture, and functional screen suited to age.

02

Engaging, Play-Based Treatment

Hands-on therapy and exercise blended into play so the child stays engaged. Therapy that feels like play, not work.

03

Home & School Integration

A clear home programme parents can run, and — where useful — liaison with schools, paediatricians, and other specialists.

04

Re-Test & Progress

Regular re-assessment against age-appropriate milestones so you can see progress, not just hope for it.

Conditions we treat

Paediatric Conditions We Treat

From toddlers through to teenagers, we assess a wide range of musculoskeletal, developmental, and neurological presentations in children — always in partnership with parents.

Developmental Delay

Gross motor delay, late walking, and movement milestones that are not progressing as expected — assessed and supported with structured input.

Flat Feet & Gait Issues

In-toeing, out-toeing, tip-toe walking, and persistent flat feet assessed for whether intervention is genuinely needed.

Growing Pains

Recurrent leg or limb pain in growing children — assessed clinically and managed with reassurance plus targeted exercise.

Adolescent Scoliosis

Postural and exercise-based management alongside orthopaedic care, including Schroth-style programmes where appropriate.

Sports Injuries in Young Athletes

Growth-plate injuries, Sever's, Osgood–Schlatter, and youth sports rehabilitation that respects skeletal maturity.

Cerebral Palsy

Hands-on therapy, orthotic input, and strength/movement programmes that support function across the school day.

Developmental Coordination Disorder

Building motor planning and confidence in children who 'look clumsy' or struggle with sport and PE.

Torticollis & Plagiocephaly

Early infant assessment for neck preference and head shape, with parent-led positioning and stretching programmes.

Post-Fracture Rehabilitation

Restoring full range, strength, and confidence after paediatric fractures or orthopaedic procedures.

Frequently Asked Questions

We see children from toddler age right through to adolescence. For very young infants — including newborn torticollis — please contact us so we can match you with the right therapist.

Yes. Parents are always welcome and often essential, particularly for younger children. For older children and teenagers we let the family decide what works.

Typically 45 to 60 minutes, but we adapt the length to the child's age and concentration. Younger children sometimes do best in two shorter sessions.

Yes — with parental consent we are happy to share plans with schools, paediatricians, orthopaedic surgeons, or other specialists involved in your child's care.
