Muscle Tightness & Stiffness
That constant feeling of tightness, restricted movement, or aching stiffness isn't something you have to live with. We address the root causes , whether it's lifestyle, training load, posture, or injury , and restore your range of motion.

Assess Your Movement
Tightness is often a symptom of deeper movement dysfunction. Our assessment identifies what's actually restricting you , so stretching alone isn't your only solution.

What Causes Muscle Tightness & Stiffness
Sedentary Lifestyle
Prolonged sitting and low activity levels reduce muscle extensibility and joint mobility over time , the most common cause of generalised stiffness.
Overtraining & Poor Recovery
Without adequate recovery between sessions, muscles accumulate fatigue and micro-damage that leads to chronic tightness and performance decline.
Trigger Points
Localised areas of muscle hypersensitivity (knots) refer pain and restrict local circulation, reducing flexibility and causing referred discomfort.
Fascial Restrictions
The connective tissue surrounding muscles can become shortened and adhered, limiting movement independently of the muscles themselves.
Muscle Imbalances
Overactive muscles compensating for weak counterparts become chronically shortened and tight as a result of the altered load.
Dehydration & Nutrition
Inadequate hydration and micronutrient deficiencies (particularly magnesium) directly affect muscle contractility and recovery.
How we treat it
The KINETIKA Approach
We assess your movement, posture, strength, and pain patterns. No two backs are the same , your plan won't be either.
Manual therapy, joint mobilisation, and targeted soft tissue work to reduce pain fast.
Progressive exercise rehab that rebuilds the strength and movement patterns that pain disrupted.
Understanding your pain changes outcomes. We give you the tools to stay well long-term.

Frequently Asked Questions
Not necessarily. In many cases, stretching the 'tight' muscle is counterproductive if the tightness is a protective response to instability or overload. We identify whether your tightness is neurological, structural, or postural , and treat accordingly.
Many patients feel significantly looser and more mobile after 3–5 sessions. Longer-term improvement in flexibility and movement quality typically develops over 6–12 weeks of targeted work.
Both can help, but physiotherapy goes further by addressing why the muscles are tight , not just temporarily releasing them. The combination of manual therapy and targeted exercise produces the most lasting results.
