01Manual Therapy & Osteopathy

The hands-on foundation of KINETIKA’s physiotherapy — skilled, specific movements to restore mobility, relieve pain, and support the body’s natural healing capacity.

Joint Mobilisation+
Joint mobilisation at KINETIKA

Controlled, graded movements applied to a joint to restore its normal range of motion. Particularly effective for stiff or painful joints in the spine, shoulder, hip, or ankle.

Used for: cervical and lumbar stiffness, shoulder impingement, hip restriction, ankle stiffness post-sprain, wrist and hand restrictions.Read full article: Joint Mobilisation →

Joint Manipulation (High-Velocity Thrust)+

A precise, quick movement applied to a restricted joint. Restores full range of motion, reduces muscle guarding, and produces immediate pain relief. Applied only where clinically appropriate.

Used for: facet joint restrictions in the lumbar and thoracic spine, cervical manipulation in selected cases, costovertebral restriction.

Soft Tissue Mobilisation+
Soft tissue mobilisation

Hands-on techniques targeting muscles, fascia, and connective tissue to reduce tension, break down adhesions, and restore tissue mobility.

Used for: muscle strains, tendinopathies, postural pain, post-surgical scar tissue, sports recovery.Read full article →

Myofascial Trigger Point Release+

Treatment of trigger points — hyperirritable spots within a taut band of muscle that refer pain to other areas of the body.

Used for: tension-type headache, cervicogenic headache, neck and upper back pain, TMJ dysfunction, shoulder pain, low back and hip pain with leg referral.Read full article →

Muscle Energy Techniques (MET)+
Muscle Energy Technique

An active technique where you contract a specific muscle group against your therapist’s resistance, followed by a stretching or repositioning movement.

Used for: pelvic and sacroiliac malalignment, hip flexor shortening, shoulder rotation restriction, cervical spine positioning, hamstring shortening in low back presentations.Read full article →

Neurodynamic Techniques+
Neurodynamic assessment

Specific movements that mobilise the nervous system — nerve roots, peripheral nerves, and their surrounding connective tissue.

Used for: sciatica and lumbar radiculopathy, cervical radiculopathy with arm pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel, thoracic outlet syndrome.Read full article →

Visceral Mobilisation+
Visceral mobilisation

Gentle manual techniques applied to the internal organs and their surrounding connective tissue.

Used for: post-surgical abdominal/pelvic adhesions, pelvic floor dysfunction, chronic low back or pelvic pain with visceral involvement, post-caesarean recovery.Read full article →

02Therapeutic Exercises

Exercise is the most durable form of treatment in physiotherapy. Every program at KINETIKA is individually prescribed based on assessment findings — not a generic handout, but a precise progression designed around your specific deficits and goals.

Core Stability Training+
Core stability training

Core stability at KINETIKA addresses the deep stabilising system: transversus abdominis, multifidus, pelvic floor, and diaphragm.

Used for: spinal pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, pelvic girdle pain, postpartum rehabilitation, athletic performance.Read full article →

Balance & Proprioceptive Retraining+
Balance retraining

After any joint injury, proprioception is significantly impaired. KINETIKA’s vestibular and balance physiotherapists retrain through progressive single-leg stance, perturbation training, and vestibular rehabilitation.

Used for: post ankle/knee/hip injury or surgery, older adults with falls risk, BPPV and vestibular hypofunction, athletes returning to sport.Read full article →

Assisted Stretching+
Assisted stretching

At KINETIKA we use Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) — combining isometric contraction, relaxation, and passive stretch to achieve tissue elongation well beyond passive stretching alone.

Used for: hamstring tightness in low back pain, hip flexor shortening, calf and Achilles restriction, thoracic and cervical mobility, pre- and post-athletic performance.Read full article →

Strength & Conditioning+

Progressive resistance training prescribed as part of rehabilitation from the earliest appropriate stage. Load is the primary stimulus for tendon remodelling, bone density maintenance, and muscle hypertrophy.

Used for: tendinopathies, post-surgical rehabilitation, osteoporosis management, sports performance, chronic pain with deconditioning.

Breathing Rehabilitation+

Dysfunctional breathing patterns contribute to elevated sympathetic nervous system activity, pelvic floor overactivity, and chronic pain sensitisation. We retrain diaphragmatic mechanics and coordinate breathing with core stability.

Used for: chronic pain with central sensitisation, pelvic floor dysfunction, thoracic stiffness, anxiety-driven musculoskeletal tension.

Home Exercise Programs+

Every patient leaves KINETIKA with a precise, individually prescribed home program — targeted at their specific assessment findings with photos, repetition targets, and loading progressions.

03Advanced Tools & Technology

KINETIKA’s rehabilitation technology extends what hands-on physiotherapy can achieve — reaching tissue depths inaccessible to manual techniques, modulating pain through neurological pathways, and accelerating healing at the cellular level.

TECAR Therapy+
TECAR therapy at KINETIKA

TECAR uses high-frequency electromagnetic energy to generate deep tissue heat. It increases circulation, accelerates repair, reduces oedema, and improves tissue extensibility.

Used for: acute and subacute muscle injuries, tendinopathies, post-surgical rehabilitation, joint capsule restrictions, chronic back and neck pain.Read full article →

Laser Therapy (Photobiomodulation)+
Laser therapy

Laser therapy uses red and near-infrared wavelengths to stimulate biological processes, triggering increased ATP production, reduced inflammatory mediators, and stimulation of collagen synthesis.

Used for: tendinopathies, ligament sprains, post-surgical healing, osteoarthritis pain, chronic pain syndromes, peripheral neuropathy.Read full article →

Radial Shockwave Therapy+
Shockwave therapy

Shockwave delivers high-energy acoustic waves to break down calcific deposits, stimulate collagen remodelling, and restart the healing process in chronically degenerated tendons.

Used for: plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, patella tendinopathy, calcific rotator cuff tendinopathy, lateral epicondylitis, greater trochanteric pain syndrome.Read full article →

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)+
TENS treatment

TENS delivers low-level electrical current to modulate pain signals at the nerve level via the gate control mechanism and endorphin release.

Used for: acute and post-surgical pain, chronic low back and neck pain, osteoarthritis, neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia.Read full article →

EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation)+
EMS treatment

EMS delivers electrical impulses to produce targeted muscle contractions — re-educating function when voluntary activation is impaired and preventing atrophy.

Used for: post-surgical muscle re-education, atrophy prevention, strength augmentation in sports rehabilitation, neurological presentations with muscle weakness.Read full article →

Traction Table (Spinal Decompression)+
Traction table

The traction table applies a controlled distractive force to the spine, decompressing intervertebral discs, facet joints, and neural foramen.

Used for: lumbar disc herniation with or without sciatica, cervical disc herniation with arm pain, spinal stenosis, facet joint compression pain.Read full article →

Pressotherapy (Intermittent Pneumatic Compression)+
Pressotherapy

Sequential, graduated compression from distal to proximal — mimicking and amplifying the body’s natural lymphatic pumping mechanism to reduce oedema and accelerate sports recovery.

Used for: post-injury and post-surgical oedema, lymphoedema management, sports recovery, chronic venous insufficiency.Read full article →

Ultrasound Therapy+

Therapeutic ultrasound delivers high-frequency sound waves into tissue, producing thermal and non-thermal effects that accelerate healing. Used as an adjunct to manual therapy before stretching or mobilisation.

Used for: soft tissue injuries, tendinopathies, scar tissue management, joint capsule tightness.

Dry Needling+

A fine acupuncture needle inserted directly into a myofascial trigger point, producing a local twitch response that resets neuromuscular dysfunction — reaching deeper muscles inaccessible to manual compression.

Used for: deep trigger points in muscles inaccessible to manual pressure, chronic myofascial pain syndromes, sports injury with significant muscle guarding.

Kinesiology Taping+

Elastic therapeutic tape applied to skin to provide proprioceptive feedback, support structures without restricting movement, and modulate tissue tension. Used selectively as an adjunct at KINETIKA.

Hot & Cold Therapy+

Thermotherapy (heat) increases tissue extensibility before manual therapy. Cryotherapy (cold) reduces acute inflammation and pain. Contrast therapy alternates both to drive circulatory pumping in subacute swelling management.

04Additional Modalities

Beyond the core toolkit, KINETIKA offers specialist services that address specific presentations through targeted, evidence-based approaches.

Used for: early post-surgical rehabilitation, severe osteoarthritis, complex regional pain syndrome, obesity-related joint loading, neurological rehabilitation.

05Patient Education & Pain Science

Understanding your condition is not a passive adjunct to treatment at KINETIKA — it is a therapeutic intervention in its own right.

Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE)+

PNE teaches patients about the biological processes underlying their pain — how the nervous system generates, amplifies, and maintains pain signals, and how stress, sleep, lifestyle, and beliefs interact with tissue health.

Load Management & Return to Activity+

The clinical art of progressing tissue loading optimally — stimulating repair without provoking excessive irritability. Every patient receives clear guidance on what activities are safe, what to modify, and how to progress.

Lifestyle & Ergonomic Coaching+

At KINETIKA, we address the lifestyle and ergonomic factors contributing to your presentation — workstation setup, sleep positioning, footwear, sport technique analysis, and the role of stress physiology in pain sensitisation.
