Start with an assessment

Trauma Rehab That Protects the Repair

Trauma demands careful, structured rehabilitation. Your assessment maps the surgical protocol, the healing stage, and your goals — so the plan respects all three.

How trauma recovery works

Our Trauma Recovery Approach

01

Acute Phase Management

In the early stages we focus on pain management, gentle mobilisation, and oedema control to support the body's natural healing process — within the surgical protocol.

02

Restoring Range of Motion

As healing permits, progressive mobility work to regain full joint range without compromising the surgical site or the healing tissue.

03

Progressive Strengthening

Stage-by-stage strengthening that rebuilds load tolerance and stability around the injured joint and the supporting chain.

04

Function & Return-to-Activity

Goal-specific rehabilitation to restore the physical demands of work, sport, or daily life — with criterion-based testing before clearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Often within the first few days, depending on the injury and surgical protocol. Early, structured movement — within your surgeon's plan — protects range of motion, controls swelling, and improves long-term outcomes.

Yes. We work directly from your operative report and rehabilitation protocol, and we are happy to share progress notes back.

It depends on the injury and the operation. Simple fractures may resolve within 8–12 weeks; complex polytrauma can be a 6–12 month structured rehabilitation. We will give you realistic timelines at the first session.

Some discomfort is expected early on. Persistent or escalating pain is a clinical signal — we adjust the plan and, where needed, communicate with your surgeon promptly.
