What Causes Back Pain
Muscle & Soft Tissue
Muscles and surrounding tissues can become painful or sensitive following sudden strain, changes in activity, repetitive loading, or periods of reduced movement.
Disc-Related Pain
Disc bulges, herniations, and degeneration can compress nerves and cause both local and referred pain.
Facet Joint Dysfunction
Small joints in the spine can become irritated, causing stiffness and pain with movement.
Activity & Load Changes
Sudden increases in exercise, lifting, work demands, or unfamiliar activity can exceed the body's current capacity and contribute to a flare-up of back pain.
Nerve Involvement
Irritation or compression of a nerve root in the lower back can cause pain, tingling, numbness, or weakness that travels into the buttock or leg.
Sleep, Stress & Lifestyle
Sleep, stress, physical activity, work demands, previous episodes of back pain, and overall health can all influence how back pain is experienced and how quickly you recover.

Frequently Asked Questions

This depends entirely on your diagnosis, severity, and goals. Most patients see meaningful improvement within 4-8 sessions. We'll give you a realistic picture after your initial assessment.
Our goal is the opposite, to get you independent and strong enough that you don't need us. We build self-management strategies into every programme.
Many Dubai health insurance plans cover physiotherapy. See our Insurance page for details, or WhatsApp our team and we'll check your cover.
