Treatment
Hands-On Physiotherapy
Skilled hands-on techniques, joint mobilisation, soft tissue work, and targeted manipulation, to reduce pain, restore movement, and set the stage for lasting recovery.
Hands-on physiotherapy is where hands-on expertise meets movement science. It’s rarely a stand-alone fix, but in combination with exercise rehabilitation, it can unlock progress when stiffness, tissue restriction, or protective muscle tension is holding you back.
Hands-on, outcome-driven
Movement Is the Goal
We don’t just chase pain, we use hands-on physiotherapy to open up movement, so rehab can progress faster.

How we work
Our Hands-On Physiotherapy Approach
Assessment
We identify which joints, tissues, or segments are restricted, overactive, or pain-sensitised, not just where it hurts.
Targeted Treatment
Joint mobilisations, soft tissue techniques, and manipulation chosen for your specific presentation.
Movement Re-Education
We immediately move you through the newly-available range so your brain re-learns it as safe.
Self-Management
Exercises, mobility work, and posture strategies so you hold the gains between sessions.
When hands-on physiotherapy helps
Conditions We Treat
Hands-on physiotherapy shines where stiffness, joint restriction, or protective muscle guarding is part of the problem. We’ll assess whether it’s right for you before starting.
Neck Pain & Stiffness

Low Back Pain
Spinal mobilisation combined with core re-education for long-term relief.
Thoracic Stiffness
Mid-back mobilisations that open up breathing, rotation, and shoulder movement.
Frozen Shoulder
Graded joint mobilisation through each phase of adhesive capsulitis.
Hip Impingement / FAI
Targeted hip joint work to restore range and reduce groin and front-of-hip pain.
Knee Joint Stiffness
Post-injury or post-surgery joint work to rebuild full flexion and extension.
Headaches & Jaw Pain
Upper cervical and TMJ mobilisation for tension and movement-related headaches.
Soft Tissue Restrictions
Deep tissue and myofascial techniques for chronic muscle tightness and trigger points.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. Massage is one small part of what hands-on physiotherapy covers. Hands-on physiotherapy also includes joint mobilisation, manipulation, nerve mobilisation, and targeted techniques delivered by a trained physiotherapist based on clinical assessment.
Most techniques are comfortable. Some deep tissue or stiff-joint work can feel intense, but we always stay within your comfort range. You’ll feel looser, not battered.
Many patients feel improvement in the first session. Lasting change comes when we pair hands-on physiotherapy with the right exercise rehab, usually over 4–8 weeks.
Yes, where it’s clinically indicated and safe. Our physiotherapists are trained in spinal manipulation and use it selectively as part of a broader plan, not as a standalone fix.
The goal is to get you independent, not dependent on weekly appointments. Most patients finish a block of treatment with a clear self-management plan and only return as needed.
